Wendell Brown has been in the livestock business for over 50 years here in Salem, Indiana, but has never raised an animal more precious than the alpaca. Alpacas are gentle creatures with luxurious fleece that is lighter, warmer, softer, and more durable than sheep’s wool. They are easy to raise, inexpensive to keep, and a joy to be near. To find out more about alpacas, including how they sound, please visit The Alpaca page.
Blue River Alpacas came into existence in 2000 here in Southern Indiana, about a year after Wendell, a farmer, accountant, pilot, and assistant editor, married Trina, a developmental editor, licensed massage therapist, and dabbler in Web site design and multimedia creation. Find out more about us, our farm, and how we got started in the alpaca business on the About Us page.
